Meet Captain Vern, MV Doolin-Rogers

Washington Maritime Careers is presented by the NW Center of Excellence for Marine Manufacturing & Technology. The Center, which is part of Skagit Valley College, focuses on strengthening the connections between education and the industry to meet the technical workforce needs of the Washington State maritime industry. Captain Vern of MV Doolin-Rogers got involved in youth education to help students learn math and science skills through practical application. He notes how rewarding it is to pass his knowledge on to young people by being on the water and helping them find their passions.
